Who we are

CENOZO is a ground-breaking project for data-based cross-border investigations in West Africa. One of its missions is to fund and coordinate regional cross-border investigations to create impact and fight against corruption, organized crime, human rights violations, and terrorism at the same time promoting good governance practices and strengthening the abilities of local journalists.

Investigate journalism

Journalism - free, independent and with high quality standards - is key to contributing to accountability and the promotion of good public policy and good governance in West Africa and promoting democracy.

A trusted connector

West Africa is a crucial point of contact between Latin-America, Europe, North Africa, Southern Africa, the Middle East and parts of Asia, and yet it remains vastly underdeveloped. As a center for investigative journalism in the region, CENOZO provides international partners with a safe space with trusted professionals to collaborate and understand the impact of West Africa in their own context.

Data analysis, financial research, online investigation, fact checking techniques; in CENOZO we understand journalism is changing and we are working on implementing all the innovative techniques in the market to provide better and more impactful journalism to the region.
