He started journalism in April 1997 as a student reporter at Radio Kledu in Bamako. Over the years, especially after the studies, this radio recruited him as a journalist in 2000. Our colleague Kassim Troaré of Radio Klédu and no less collaborator of the SOMAPRESSE Group (L'Indépendant and Bamako Hebdo) won a prestigious contract with US International Radio, "The Voice of America" (VOA). After three months of testing, he was definitively retained as a permanent correspondent in Mali. The terms of the contract specify that it is an engagement between Kassim Traoré, journalist and the VOA. Entering into force on April 1, the areas of correspondence are politics, social affairs, economics, agriculture, sports and culture. Head of the political desk of the editorial staff of Radio Klédu and head of the reporters of the general information editorial of the same radio, Mr. Traoré holds a degree in sociology from the University of Bamako, since 2004. He has several journalism training courses, notably in Switzerland, in the newspaper la Liberté in the section CANTON (Friborg). Not to mention his training course in Computer Assisted Sound Editing with software like Gold Wave, Multiquense and Pro Radio. He has covered several national and international events, including the general elections of Mali (presidential and legislative elections 2002 and 2007), the FESPACO, the Cultural and Arts Biennial of Mali, the CAN 2002, the presidential election of Guinea Conakry in 2010, etc. In November 2012 he created the general news weekly Le Reporter with a specialization in investigation and investigation. In 2014 he participated in the first meeting of investigative journalists in West Africa in Dakar. This meeting led to the creation of a West African network of investigative journalists. Thus was born in July 2015 in Ouagadougou, Burkina Faso, the Norbert Zongo Cell for investigative journalism in West Africa (CENOZO). It is a regional association open to any journalist from West Africa who has demonstrated his commitment to investigative journalism. Kassim Traore is a founding member of this cell. On behalf of CENOZO Kassim Traore and other journalists participated in the 10th Global Meeting of Investigative Journalists from November 15 to 20, 2017. At the national level he is a member of the Association of Publishers of the Press ASSEP, member of the Union of Free Radios of Mali URTEL, Secretary General of the Organization of Reporters Journalists of Mali (OJRM), since January 2003, he is also, member of the Board of Directors of the Union of Francophone Press Clubs (UCPF), since the 2008 Bordeaux Congress.
