The Norbert Zongo Cell for Investigative Journalism in West Africa (CENOZO) is a subregional organization based in Burkina Faso. Our mission is to promote investigative journalism reporting on corruption, poor governance, organized crime and human rights abuses in West Africa. CENOZO's vision is to work for a peaceful, democratic West Africa, characterized by accountability, justice and the equitable sharing of resources.

We are a center of reference for investigative journalism reporting, capacity building for journalists and the promotion of democratic values ​​in West Africa.

As part of the implementation of its activities, CENOZO is looking for candidates for the following positions: a Coordinator, a Program Officer, a Communication Officer and an Administrative and financial assistant.

Coordinator

Profile:

  • Have a second degree or equivalent university degree in journalism, communication, project management, international development;
  • Have at least five years of professional experience in the field of journalism in West Africa;
  • Have professional experience in the management of human and / or financial resources of at least three years;
  • Have a passion for professional and independent journalism;
  • Have excellent written and oral communication skills;
  • Have a perfect command of French and English. Fluency in Portuguese or other national languages ​​of the West African region is an asset.
  • Have a good knowledge of issues relating to human rights, freedom of expression and / or democratization in West Africa;
  • Have a good knowledge of international and regional mechanisms for the promotion and protection of human rights;
  • Have knowledge of geopolitics and recent developments in West Africa;
  • Have a good knowledge of the issues of media regulation and self-regulation and in-depth knowledge of the issues of freedom of expression on the internet;
  • Have an ability to work on their own initiative with proven time management skills;

Program Manager

Profile:

  • Hold a graduate degree or equivalent in media / journalism, international development or project management;
  • Have between 5 to 10 years of professional experience;
  • Have at least 2 years of proven experience in policy development, monitoring, advocacy and / or campaign work in the media sector;
  • Have at least 2 years of experience in managing budgets and projects in the media field;
  • Have experience working with journalists, professional media organizations and non-governmental organizations;
  • Have proven expertise in the field of ICT and audiovisual, in particular on innovative technologies related to journalism;
  • Have a good knowledge of issues relating to human rights, freedom of expression and / or democratization in West Africa;
  • Have a good knowledge of international and regional mechanisms for the promotion and protection of human rights;
  • Have knowledge of geopolitics and recent developments in West Africa;
  • Have a good knowledge of the issues of media regulation and self-regulation and in-depth knowledge of the issues of freedom of expression on the internet;

  • Have experience in working in an intercultural environment;
  • Have proven expertise in the field of ICT and audiovisual, in particular on innovative technologies related to journalism;
  • Have excellent writing and oral communication skills in French and English (bilingual level);
  • Have a proven mastery of the management and animation of social networks as well as the administration of websites;
  • Have a good command of the computer tool and communication software;
  • Have skills in computer graphics;
  • Have a strong organizational capacity, a work methodology;
  • Have a spirit of synthesis;
  • Have a capacity for initiative, a force for proposal and innovation;

Profile:

  • Hold a university degree in accounting management, administration, secretarial or equivalent;
  • Have at least 3 years of professional experience;
  • Have at least 2 years experience in a similar position;
  • Have experience working with journalists, professional media organizations and non-governmental organizations;
  • Have experience working in an intercultural environment.
